Nanofluid Microstructure Paradigm era
Soo-Jin Choi popularized nanofluids and led early experimental demonstrations of nanoparticle-enhanced heat transfer, grounding the era in practical nanofluid thermophysics. Joseph Buongiorno formulated a microstructure-to-macroscale modeling framework that explicitly incorporates Brownian diffusion and thermophoresis to relate nanoparticle dynamics to bulk transport properties. Gregory W. Eastman and collaborators advanced benchmarking and standardization of nanofluid thermophysical baselines, enabling engineering use and cross-lab validation. Together these representative authors helped establish a coherent design paradigm for material selection and system-level heat-transfer enhancement in the Nanofluid Microstructure Paradigm.
